Godless Heathens #2

Wicked Vile King

Rate this book
We are lords over a savage land.

— Gabriel —

It’s my senior year at the Asylum. After this, it’s either college or padded walls for life.
They say fake it until you make it, and I’ve gotten really good at faking it.
Well, I was really good, until she came along.
A blonde transfer student with a sharp tongue and a superiority complex makes me want to see her insides.
They call me a sociopath, a maniac, unbalanced.
But here, I am king.
Repent your sins and beg forgiveness, baby girl.
Prayers won’t save you from me.

— Avery —

I never expected my parents to deliver me to this hellscape.
They want this place to cure me, to make me into a good girl, to save me from starvation.
An arrogant creep with dead eyes made me his target instead.
He’s sick and twisted, and I’m tired of his games.
He says he’ll stop if I go with him to the basement, to the place forbidden and kept under lock and key.
Everyone knows, though, you don’t go down there and come out alive.

Author's Note: Wicked Vile King is a 400+ page, dark academia gothic romance recommended for those 18+. It features mature themes including, but not limited to, an explosive heat level, bullying, and, like my other novels, struggles with mental illness.

Please read the content/trigger warnings carefully before reading, available either through the Look-Inside feature or on my website (linked on my Amazon author page and TBA soon).

Jordan Grant is a lost soul, who changed majors three times in college before deciding on English. Because she has about as much patience as her beautiful, wonderful (did she mention ah-mazing!) younglings, she graduated a year early and then went to law school because...

Well, she mentioned she’s a lost soul, right?

A special place in her heart is devoted to edgy alpha males and bad boys with naughty mouths. She loves to get lost in the blur between love and hate and is especially fond of prince charmings with dents in their crowns and strife in their souls.

She is an avid fan of all things sweet including red wine and cupcakes (red velvet, please!). When she’s not daydreaming about the characters in her head, she enjoys (attempting to) garden, petting furry animals, and wrangling her family into day-trip adventures.

"I don't want," he murmurs. "I need, baby girl, and I need it all, your every thought, breath, and heartbeat. I need everything, and I need it devoted to me."

4/5 3/5 🌶️

I was so excited to return to Chryseum Academy. I like the author's writing style and this place gives me an eerie, creepy feeling. There's this heavy, ominous atmosphere that I'm enamored with!

This is the story of Gabe and Avery, two broken souls that collided into each other. And by collided, I meant Gabe going full-blown obsession on her. He set his focus on her and there wasn't going back. It only escalated into several totally insane and mildly catastrophic events.

I really liked Gabe, not as much as I liked Saint, but he certainly was an interesting mmc to read. He wasn't the usual obsessive mmc. The way he attempted to acquire control and the manners he expressed his devotion to Avery weren't ordinary or even reasonable. Probably because his emotions and thoughts weren't exactly rational. But he was fun. He was a raging a*hole and a bully but … also so much fun.

I also really liked Avery. I felt for her and her demons and I adored how she fought back. She had an admirable backbone and wouldn't let herself be intimidated. I wish that we had more time to witness her journey of self-healing.

There were a few things that I found lacking. As happened in book 1, we didn't have enough time with the mcs after they found themselves in their relationship. I wished that I could read more about their dynamic after they officially get together … even mandate stuff like Avery reading to Gabe.

Also, I needed more time with Avery and Willow. I'm bummed that we didn't see on page their relationship grow. It would have been a blast.

I'm so excited for book 3. It's Kill, who is my most anticipated of the trio. There's going to be religious trauma. I'm so freakin' excited!

Did I like it? Really liked it.
Would I reread it? Probably not.

the relationship component is superior in this book compared to the previous one, but their brand of "crazy" was SO NOT my cup of tea 😅🤷🏼‍♀️

The hero is a pyromaniac and the heroine is anorexic. Be advised that the descriptions of her disorder (calories counting, verbal abuse suffered from mother etc.) made me itchy and bothered to the extend that I wanted to crawl out of my own skin 😫 and I don't even struggle with eating disorders (not that I know of). So if this book managed to disturb even me, I think it's safe to say any person with such triggers should better stay away from this book🫣 🫶

Okay, Jordan Grant has done it AGAIN! We’re back at Chryseum Reformatory Academy — well not me, I never left! — and we meet the second of the Kings in “Wicked Vile King.”

Gabriel Soros, our MMC, is the definition of unhinged. Not only does he laugh so hard he cries at fights that break out in the hallway but he keeps a Zippo lighter in his pocket and burns the pad of his thumb over and over again because flames are a part of his DNA. He is a pyromaniac, and we know this from book 1, but what he does and how he feels about fire and flames is on another level. Of course he falls for the “dead” girl who is TERRIFIED of fires because of a car accident she was in years ago. Avery Bardot, much like everyone else at Chryseum, has been though multiple programs to “fix” her eating disorder and those programs didn’t work so she landed there. The first time she meets Gabe, she is 100% creeped out and honestly, he was being a total creep. He said “I think I love you” after he sees how her hair looks like fire. Their push and pull relationship lasts almost the entirety of the book and the things Gabe does to Avery to break her are really difficult and in comparison, what she endures is more intense than Willow in book 1. Avery though… she may have an eating disorder that rules every aspect of her life but damn, she’s fiesty and I appreciate it! Gabe is straight up a monster and she doesn’t give in until the very last second — when she’s branded as his forever. Personally? I would have given into Gabe sooner because he’s 🥵🥵 but I am not mad at her game.

The craziness level was turned ALL the way up for this one folks! The spice hits super late but the scene with the flash paper? I mean, new kink unlocked? idkidk. 😂😂 If Gabe is this wild, I think we’re in for one hell of a ride with Killian in book 3.

Wicked-Vile-King-by-Jordan-Grant-2

Avery’s parents sent her off to another asylum, thinking this one would finally fix their daughter. Chryseum Reformatory Academy is the last resort. A place where outcasts are locked up and rejected by society. She thinks she’ll be there for a few weeks before her father loses patience and ships her away. What she didn’t see coming was the creep with dark inky eyes who says he loves her from the moment he sits eyes on her.

Gabe wanted the new girl with fire in her hair. He wanted to fix her and make her his. With not enough time left, he will do anything to keep her and whatever it takes to make her see herself for what she really is. His Firefly. It won’t hurt that he keeps imagining what she would look like wrapped in his flames.

Wicked-Vile-King-by-Jordan-Grant-4

Wicked Vile King comes with a long list of triggers. It’s the second book in the Godless Heathens series. Dark, gothic academia with bully romances and enemies to lovers. Written in a dual narrative that tells the story of both the unhinged MMC and the spunky FMC. As the secrets unravel and the dark past comes to light, the stakes get higher. The tension builds and the battle of wills begins.

There are a few typos in this book but trust me they don’t take away the pleasure of reading this book.

Wicked-Vile-King-by-Jordan-Grant-1

It’s brilliant how Jordan Grant shows the similarities and differences between these two in this book. They keep hearing and seeing themselves through their parents. Avery keeps hearing her mother calling her a pig, and Gabe is constantly hearing his father making fun of him and calling him a fool. They both give each other hell when they throw their flaws at each other, hoping the other would feel the pain they caused. I love this twisted book in all its dark, gothic glory.

Wicked-Vile-King-by-Jordan-Grant-5

Gabe is an unhinged genius and even if the way he wanted to help Avery felt wrong, it still was beautiful. This book is a beautiful madness that I can’t get enough of. Avery was trying to stay detached, but the creep who walked through the halls like a king had other ideas. This book is brilliant and I cannot wait for Kill’s story.

Wicked-Vile-King-by-Jordan-Grant-3

This unhinged story shows how two broken souls heal each other. Even when the way they do it might not make sense. They provide each other with the support they need, even if it doesn’t seem logical. Ultimately, it brings them closer together and helps them to find a way to mend their broken hearts.

In this epic second book we return to the Asylum and we get to delve into Gabe & Avery’s story! Their story is filled with angst, fear, lust, desire, and the fire between them emotionally, physically, and literally is off the charts-SCORCHING!! 🔥🔥🔥

Gabe is ready to finish him time and get out but he’s grown tired of his daily needs for fire and he must find an outlet before he burns the whole world to the ground!! When Avery walks into his domain he finally has something he wants just as much as fire! She’s rude and condescending to him and it’s never turned him on so much. She’s unlike anyone he’s ever encounter and he has to make her his! She’s all consuming his minds and thoughts! It’s adorably creepy that he confesses his love to her the moment she sits next to him! It’s hilarious and oh so Gabe!!

Avery settles in for yet another place that’s going to fix her eating disorder except the only real way to fix it is for her mother to never be in her life again! Avery knows just to bide her time and soon she’ll be free of it all. This place is full of creepers and the one who’s honed in on her is quite a doozy. He’s attractive but the creep factor is high! Now that he’s selected her as his project she has no idea how to escape him….however the more time together the more she drawn to all his corks and desires…she never knew crazy could be this good!

You are going to devour their story and it’s another maddening addition to this fantastic, dark, dangerous series by Jordan. Happy Reading!!

Wicked Vile King is a wild ride of a book by Jordan Grant and it’s book 2 in the Godless Heathens series. This story focuses on Gabriel and Avery. Gabriel is in his senior year at the asylum, he’s definitely a sociopath and instantly smitten with the aloof Avery who has been sent to the asylum by her parents due to her eating disorder. Here in lies the game of cat and mouse and Gabriel does everything possible to make Avery live, even setting her on fire! (you’ve got to read the story to understand).

This is an intense book about two people who have had some horrible things done to them in their lives which results in them ending up in the Asylum, but that place is just as dangerous and things are lurking around the corner that could cost both Gabriel and Avery their insanity (or what’s left of it, if any). Like the previous book, the characters are intense with each other and there are definitely some dark triggers (so be warned).

I don’t want to give too much away, but if you like your book boyfriends crazy, alpha and just downright dangerous, then you’re going to love Gabriel and the lengths he will go to for Avery.
Another great addition to this series!

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊

OH MY GOD!!!
Gabe has my heart in the palm of his hand. It’s his to crush it, ruin it and burn it.

The way he loves, the way he cares, the way he wants what’s best for her, even though the way he gets it might be a little unconventional (borderline insane). It makes my heart melt. I feel for him, for what he went through with his father, for being tortured mentally for having dyslexia… yes he has other issues but oh well, don’t we all?

And his little firefly!?! Oh my god.
Her background and backstory hurt me so deeply because I see myself in her. Her struggles, her pain and relationship with food. Connecting her self worth with physical appearance. Knowing a full kcal table of all the foods out there. I was diagnosed with bulimia at 14, and I still haven’t escaped the cycle at 25.

I loved the surprise he made for her. That was the final crack in her walls. She was never truly cared for, and neither was he. She put him first the way he put her wellbeing first too, and it was just beautiful.

I loved every moment of it, and I also cried a little bit.

I'm not sure which King I liked better! Gabe is every bit the pyromaniac they claim him to be. Jordan has a knack for giving the ability to feel as though you're immersed in the Godless Heathens world yourself.
There is something about her writing that really is intense and captivating. Her ability to create these complex and interesting characters makes these stories that much better.
Gabe's character is misunderstood, like the others seem to be. You feel sorry for him because nobody bothers to try and help, they give up and move on. Avery is the same, and it makes you sad for them.
Gabe's need to look after Avery in a very unconventional way quietened the noises in his head.
Despite everything Avery was a strong character and she controlled herself the only way she knew how, until Gabe forced her to see who she really was.
They were able to help each other in their own way, with each of their demons calling their own.
Another really well written book. I cannot wait for out 3rd and

I definitely didn’t know I could love a pyromaniac so much! I love me an unhinged man and Jordan just kills it everytime, writing mmc that get darker and darker I don’t think I could even not like a book written by this author.

The fmc Avery was just the perfect balance for this mmc, even though she has been through trauma like everyone who goes to this school she’s still strong and sassy and is not one to give in too easily, the tension and push/pull between these two characters through out this book is something you need to read, I was entrapped by these two and trying to guess page by page where Grant was going with the story.

Lots of triggers in this book but also lots of amazing tropes such as ott/jp mmc, school romance and fire play, this is a book for my dark romance girlies who like a really messed up mmc that they can’t help but live no matter what crazy things they do to get their girl.

Wicked Vile King, the second book of the Godless Heathens, was just as twisted and dark as the first book of the series, Bloody Savage God. This time Gabe, the gorgeous pyro, is obsessed and mesmerized by the new, frail student of Chryseum Academy, Avery who happens to have a major eating disorder. Avery tries her best to steer clear of the too good looking king but Gabe’s irrefutable insistence on keeping close and saving her from herself wins at the end. The spice level maybe not as high as the first book but the care given to the handling of the delicate issue of eating disorders made up the difference. I could easily see through the eye of Avery and understand her struggle when she is faced with consuming enough food to survive. It was deep and emotional. I am looking forward to the next book of the series, Dirty Twisted Lord which will probably be deliciously sinful since it is Killian’s story.

Book 2 of 3 in the Godless Heathens series.
By Jordan Grant
Another amazing ARC read! I very much enjoyed Gabe and Avery’s story. The vibe of this book is way different than the first. Gabe has antisocial personality disorder and a penchant for starting fires. Avery is a sad soul with an eating disorder, but she has her own inner fire. Gabe is immediately obsessed with her and starts trying to “fix” her. Add in a twisted reformatory school, and a group of equally as psycho friends and you have a really great story. Always, always keep your mental health in mind and check the trigger warnings. If you have any sensitivity or history with eating disorders, I am going to recommend that you skip this one, because the authors does a very good job at explaining and going into depth on the topic.

YALLLLL!!! Gabe is 🔥🔥🔥 (pun intended lol) this book DID NOT disappoint. I was hooked from the first chapter.

Gabe is absolutely crazy and Avery is a bit reserved but they are perfect for each other. They are both really wounded people but help each other out in the best way to overcome. I don’t want to give too much away but the chemistry between them is 🔥🥵 chefs kiss 💋 and there were some funny moments in this one compared to the first which I enjoyed.

I LOVED this book, I cant wait for Kill's, hes the most mysterious one out of the three.

Make sure to check the trigger warnings, there are A LOT!!!

Strap yourselves in because this was one bumpy scorching ride!

This is the story of Gabriel and Avery, they are both broken, one would think beyond repair hence why they both ended up here at the Asylum.
Whether it’s to help them or hinder them or simply to discard them because they’re broken remains to be seen.
WVK is dark, gritty, and an eye opener inside the world of the mentally damaged.
Avery is the product of years of mental abuse from her mother and the way Jordan allows us inside her mind, her thoughts - counting every calorie, hearing her mothers piggy noises…. The list goes on.
Gabriel aka Gabe is a pyromaniac he takes pleasure and satisfaction from burning - it doesn’t matter what it is or who it is - when the urge hits it doesn’t matter anyone in his way is collateral damage.
That is until Avery enters the Asylum and Gabe wants her…. Needs her…. And it’s his mission to fix her.

Brilliant read!

KC Rating 3🍁 | 1.25🌶️

So this is the second book in the godless heathens series, and i was expecting it to be more effed up than the first book, because that was TW and CW galore! Now, don’t get me wrong, this one had a hefty list of both, but somehow after finishing the book or while reading it i didn’t feel them a lot.

The book had less spice than the first one as well, and i think this one focused more on the mental health of the characters and the reason why they were in the asylum in the first place.

Gabe and Avery were great characters with tons of issues, and i loved how Gabe was trying to help Avery with her eating disorder. His methods were not conventional, but let’s the honest the academy’s ones were not either, at least he was listening (kinda) to her and not just assuming why she was doing it.

Did i hope for more pyromancy (is that even a word?) from Gabe probably, did i hope for more effed up spice (like what Saint did in the morgue)? For sure. But the book was great in its own right! Plus i actually liked the ending here, it was still an open one, but had a more definitive future towards it!

Wicked Vile King – Godless Heathens #2 - Review

Couple: Gabe & Avery

Author: Jordan Grant

Tropes: dark romance, bad boy/good girl romance, enemy to lover, kink play, reform academy, morally grey MMC, innocent FMC, eating disorders, pyromania

Review: Welcome back to the depravity. This is a dual POV romance that is dark, twisty and perfect for anyone who enjoyed book 1.

This book is about Gabe and Avery. We learn a little about Gabe in book 1 but we finally get inside his head in this book. I honestly enjoyed his story more than I thought I would and loved the way Jordan created his character and growth throughout the story. I enjoyed how Avery pushed his buttons but I loved how Jordan included his thoughts and feelings about his last girlfriend. His character is different than Saint’s was and I appreciated how his pyromaniac ways were described and expressed. I also was shocked with how much he could feel in this book.

Avery on the other hand is a FMC who battles an eating disorder. I was happy that Jordan tackled this in a way that made her struggle real and was not sugarcoated. I enjoyed reading about her inner turmoil and how she tried to shy away from Gabe, even when he was helping her in his own way. While I loved Avery and her fight, I wanted to see more of her and Willow together. We get to see Gabe and the guys hang out some and I was hoping to see more with Saint and Willow in this book.

This is a dark romance and the spice is not innocent or sweet. I liked how Gabe took care of Avery and taught her to like herself again and I also enjoyed how he encouraged her to be herself. The tension between these two is intense at first and I LOVED every word of it. I really enjoyed the end where Avery gives into her feelings and realizes she needs to recover for herself and not for anyone else.

DID NOT FINISH at 161/296.

🖤 Darkness rating: 2.5/5
🖤 Spicy rating: 2/5
🖤 Overall rating: 2.5/5

❌TW: This book menguons a lot of calorie counting and eating disorder talk, like the calorie counting is in basically every chapter. The author does list eating disorders as a trigger

❤️ Good things:
- The author is a really good writer, their writing style is one of those that you don’t realise you’re even reading a book because you feel like you’re in the world they’ve created.
- There is no character build in the way where it’s obvious the author is trying to get you invested already in the next book, other characters are mentioned but it doesn’t go in-depth too much so that you feel like it’s just an ad for the next book.

💔 So and so things:
- I couldn’t finish this book. I really tried but the pace was way too slow for me. I think I could have looked past it if the book was longer but I stopped reading on page 161/296. It just feels like it’s dragged out in areas it shouldn’t be and it was driving me a little crazy.
- As with the first book, it did feel like some chapters or paragraphs weren’t necessary and were just so repetitive.

Overall, I’m not sure if I would recommend this book. I think if you like slow burn or not a lot of intimate scenes between the two main characters, you’ll like this book. I personally like to see more of the main characters being cosy together and with each other.
I’m also not a massive fan of flashbacks or a lot of references to the past but this book does focus a lot on that which isn’t my cup of tea.
If the above are what you like then read away!

🔥ARC REVIEW: WICKED VILE KING BY JORDAN GRANT🔥
RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

No Man's A Jester Playing Shakespeare...
Have you ever started a series and knew you would like a character in it before they even had their own story? That was me with Gabe. When he was introduced in "Bl00dy Savage God" flicking his lighter, I knew there was more to him that Author Jordan Grant would later unveil.

"Wicked Vile King" is Book 2 and Gabe and Avery's story in the Godless Heathens series. Readers will remember that Gabe is a friend of Saint and part of the Lords of the Academy. The Academy was a not so gloried asylum for wealthy families to send their children that they did not know how to manage and have given up on.

Gabe is a pyromaniac with learning challenges that have been ignored. Bored with his fellow cohorts and the day-to-day, he meets the new transfer student at the Asylum--Avery.

Avery, sent by her parents, hopes she will be "fixed." Her eating d!s0rd3r destroys every part of her, and she shuts out those around her, including Gabe. Gabe is drawn immediately to Avery and does everything he can to help and protect her. Throughout the story, readers will experience the emotional breakdown of these characters and their struggles as they battle the Asylum and their relationship.

"Wicked Vile King" left me emotionally drained. Through her written words, author Jordan Grant could draw that from me. S@distic as it sounds--I look forward to the next book!

Please read the TW/CWs.

I received a copy of this book for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Back to The Asylum we go!

Gabriel may have the name and looks of an angel but there is nothing holy about him, his love for fire, and his distorted mind. He spent his childhood trying hard to please a father who treated him like garbage. But now, at Chryseum Reformatory Academy, he's not worthless. He's a dark king.

Avery has been placed and plucked from so many institutions she's almost lost count. Her dad is desperate to fix her even though he, and her POS mother, are the root of the problem. Avery has been made to feel ugly and worthless based on her looks. She feels like the only thing she can control is what she does, and doesn't, eat. She assumes Chryseum will be like every other facility she's been to. Except there is no other hell hole like The Asylum and nowhere else has a fire-obsessed King who takes one look at her and decides she belongs to him.

This book is "dark" in a very specific way. It's something that may be triggering or offensive at times to specific readers so definitely read the TW and take them seriously.

There is NOTHING "healthy" about Avery and Gabriel's relationship. These two broken souls have been wounded beyond repair by their parents and are each seeking one thing, control. But, the way Gabriel goes to extreme means to try and help Avery, and the way Avery finally sees that there is someone out there who actually cares about her was stunning.

For me, this isn't a very spicy book, especially for Jordan. But the scenes that we do get are kinky, delicious, and deranged (just like we like them).

Wicked Vile King by Jordan Grant is book two in the Godless Heathens - Chryseum Academy which is a dark asylum bully romance. After reading the first book I knew I was in for all the rest of the series and boy did this book raise the bar. It can be read as a standalone but this world is so good, you absolutely should read the first. This book had me addicted to the words I read on the page. I didn’t lower my Kindle once. To say I’m a fan of Jordan Grant’s writing is an understatement. The worldbuilding was still just as phenomenal as the first one. I would recommend checking your trigger warnings to be on the safe side.

This is Gabe and Avery’s story, all the ups and downs. This was an emotional rollercoaster for my emotions. Avery was a great match for Gabe, she was able to stand her ground and able to push him in the best way. Gabe was protective and was willing to do whatever it took to keep her. He tried to get her to see herself more than how she saw herself. Each dealing with a problem of their own… Avery with an eating disorder and Gabe with fire. There were parts in this story that I felt my heart crack and other ones where my heart pounded. Jordan Grant definitely has me in love with her Godless Heathens. This is such an amazing book and I cannot wait for the next one!

We are back at Chryseum Academy and what a ride it was! Jordan Grant, miss mam you gave us readers a fantastic 2nd book to this series! Gabe and his firefly was everything. I could not put this book down. Now before you dive into this series make sure you check the trigger warnings.

I felt so much for these characters! Gabe and Avery were made for each other. They are one and the same person underneath all the trauma that they each go through. I loved how determined Gabe was to help Avery through her eating disorder, though his intentions were a little different but still!
And Avery! Bless her heart, I really felt for her because of all the things her own mother does to her. It’s very heartbreaking and it just show us readers how talented Jordan is.

I loved this book so much! The first book was amazing and this 2nd book is right up there with it. I highly recommend it. I never thought I would feel at one with a character before. In some aspects I feel like I can understand Gabe because like him, I have dyslexia and ADD. But unlike him I had a parent who help me and was there.

I loved this book! I’m loving this series so much.
4/5⭐️ 2.5/5🌶️

Wicked Vile King is a story that hits you on a deeper level with the topics discussed. It has plot & spice, but it was definitely more plot based. It’s angsty, he’s morally grey, she’s royally messed up in the head.

The way that Gabe cares for Avery is actually sweet, in a “I’m a little bit of a psycho” kind of way. Major trigger warnings for seggzual stuff and other things, but also touches really hard on eating disorders. The characters are both 18, which gives it more of a “YA” rating and it’s in a reformatory school setting. But this really isn’t for the youngins 🤣

Avery is fcked in the head from her mom bullying her from age 3 and on and she suffers severely from anorexia. Her dad is a spineless dork that never stands up to her mom.

Gabe is fcked in the head from a horrible POS dad that treated him terribly because he has dyslexia. He’s also a pyro, so there’s that. His mom is a spineless dingbat that tries to buy his forgiveness for her lack of stepping up to protect him.

The two of them together though, chefs kiss. They help each other recognize that they are worthy and so much more than how their parents have made them feel.

This is a great read for dark romance girlies or bully romance lovers.

Jordan Grant did this amazing job building the world for this series and Gabe has got to be my favorite mmc thus far. From the way the main characters meet and interact, to the way the novel ends, I was never once bored and honestly I had a hard time putting this novel down for my late night reading.

Avery and Gabe are two moths attracted to the flame. Avery with her trauma and disorders relating to her mom, we see Gabe chip away at that incessantly all the way until he forces her to face her fears and work on her own self worth even if it was in the utmost unconventional ways of doing so.

Playing with fire? Never really read a book with this in it, but it was absolutely wonderful. The ending was absolutely wonderful and didn’t see it coming the way it played out. I really loved Avery getting a sense of loving herself, standing up a little, and subsequently seeing everybody who did them wrong get precisely what they deserved.

But to see deeper into Gabe towards the end did absolutely break my heart. But y’all — if you don’t read this series you are absolutely missing out!

A series that just keeps getting better and better . Wicked Vile King is the second installment in what is quickly becoming one of very favorite series . This time around we get Avery and Gabe’s epic love story and wow was it a emotional rollercoaster that left me speechless , that kept me on the edge of my seat and broke my heart in all the best ways . There were when times I literally wanted to throw my iPad right across the room out of pure frustration. This is definitely not a journey for the faint of heart so please read the triggers before going in . It’s dark and raw and gritty and extremely emotional, it’s filled with angst , witty banter , love , passion , obstacles, secrets, twists and turns , tragedy, family , friendships and so much more . Avery and Gabe really could not be more perfect for each other - both are so beautifully flawed and broken , both have endured many struggles in their lives yet together they manage to find the strength to persevere through it all and come out stronger on the other side . Prepare yourself to be wowed and definitely keep the tissue close by as you will smile , you will cry like a baby a and you will be rooting so freaking hard .

Wicked Vile King is the second book in the Godless Heathens series. This book is Gabe and Avery's story. These two have been sent to the Asylum because of things their parents have done to them. Gabe is in his senior year and is a Pyromaniac, he loves fire but even this that isnt enough to hold his attention anymore and then he meets Avery. Avery is at the asylum because of an eating disorder caused by her mother and is just biding her time before she gets to leave. Gabe wants her just as much as he wants fire and is willing to do anything to make her his including trying to fix her. The more time Avery spends with Gabe the more she is drawn to him and these two together help each other survive and live.

I couldn't wait to come back here, the characters are so intense. I loved Gabe and Avery, they are opposites but so right for each other, they are both damaged but help each other in their own way to overcome everything. As with book 1 there are triggers in this book so please check if you have triggers. If you loved the first book you need to read this. Can't wait for Killian's story.

This was so good. This is the 2nd book in the Godless Heathens series as we go back to Chryseum Asylum this time it's Gabriel aka Gabe.

He's known as a pyromaniac, since he is so obsessed with fire he carries a lighter around at all times flicking it off and on when the voices start to get loud in his head they seem to quiet when he does that or they use to until he see's her the new girl his firefly Aubrey and suddenly the voices are quiet.

Aubrey's parent have shuttled her from one dr or institute after another to help heal her from her eating disorder, but how do you help someone who doesn't want help.

But Gabriel is going to help make her better, because if he saves her he helps himself. He just has to convince her to see her worth. He might be a little screwed on backwards, but his heart is in the right place.

I couldn’t help but feel for these two and be mad at the parent's. I was kinda hoping that he'd open up & tell her thing's about himself as he knew some thing's about her. I wonder what's going to happen in the next book which is Killian and whether or not they're graduating like they hope. This whole series has been great so worth the read.

I was looking forward to jumping back into this series and this did not disappoint ( in my honest opinion it wasn't as good as Bloody Savage God the first book hence why I gave it 4.5 🌟) but it still was readable.

We return to the Asylum and we get the story of Gabe and Avery. This is filled with passion, angst, lust and desire, it didn't disappoint in the 🌶️ at all. Gabe is ready to finish at the Asylum and just wants out, when Avery walks in he finally finds something he wants and boy does he want her!!! Avery is rude and obnoxious to him but it's never turned him on so much she's unlike anyone he's ever met before she doesn't fall for his charm or fall at his feet, she really does keep him on his toes.

Avery is a troubled young girl she has an eating disorder and her mother sending her to the asylum she believes will "fix her" but all she needs is not to have her in her life full stop. Avery knows to just get on with it and soon she'll be out of there and be free.

This is dark, and if you love your books like that then you'll love this series so far.

🌶 2/5

Tropes: bully romance, enemies to lovers, villain romance, asylum, high school romance

❗️CHECK TW❗️

Wicked Vile King is book 2 of the Godless Heathens series. This book follows the love story of Gabe & Avery. It is dual POV. Gabe is an unhinged psychotic who also loves fire. He is very inappropriate and awkward and yet endearing. He laughs at the most inappropriate moments. Avery is a bit naïve bordering on being dense in terms of her situation at the asylum. She is feisty but lacking of self-esteem. I felt badly for her on how her mother treated her and then her father is no help in the situation.

There is only one scene that I didn't like - not a trigger for me just didn't like it. There were a few characters I didn't like, two of them I never liked from book 1. Overall, I love the story and the character developments especially Avery's. I am looking forward to Kill's story.

This book was amazing! I already knew that it would be be Bloody Savage God was! So this is the second book in the Godless Heathens - Chryseum Academy and in the first book we read about Saint! But, in this book we read about the pyromaniac, Gabe! Gabe is a bit twisted, he likes to cause chaos and then laugh at everyone participating in the chaos he started. He also is shy about sleeping with the female population at the academy. He also feels there are not a lot of true pyros at the school. Just a lot of wannabes.

One day we meet Avery and she was dropped off after many attempts at other institutions. When Gabe sees her, he is obsessed! He will do anything to protect her and she will need him as much as he needs/wants her!

I don’t want to say anymore because you just need to read this book! I definitely can’t wait for Kill’s story! Please remember to check the TW/CW before you start reading!
