I'm a southern girl and hopeless romantic. I'm passionate about writing stories that incorporate southern charm. I grew up on a farm in a small town with a love of sports, dance, and music which will all show up somewhere in my books. When I'm not writing, my husband and I are attending a sporting event, travelling, or working.

This was a really good police procedural. I loved the plot and all the characters that were laid out. The romance was more of a minor aspect of the story, so if you're wanting more of a balance with a romantic suspense, then this isn't it.

The suspense part was good! It felt very realistic without being too intense. The pace was good and keeping up with the clues wasn't hard.

There was a plot twist at the end that was very surprising but then not so much when I thought about it.

Why 3 stars? The ending was SO ABRUPT that I feel short changed. I have questions. Some things feel undone. It ending mid thought to me and I hate that feeling.

Forget Augusta hooked me from the beginning with its plot twists, suspense, and mysterious characters. I don't usually read this genre of books, but this one sounded good enough to branch out, and it exceeded my expectations. Margo is the main character and slightly behind her police partner, Kyle. The working chemistry between them works really well as they attempt to solve multiple crimes in Augusta. Highly recommended. I certainly did not expect the ending that the book had. New author for me but certainly won't be the only book of Savannah Maris' I read.

Another great read from this author . Different than anything she has written . Riveted to my seat for the entire story . The characters pull you in, the scenes play out in front of you like your watching it happen in real time. I had a hard time putting this one down . I needed to know what would happen next after each chapter . Make the time to read this one because you will not be disappointed!

That ending killed me!!! I know it's a standalone but I think she needs to write a sequel to follow up what happens with the two main characters!!!! Other than that it was a great read that I couldn't put down!

This book captivated me, I really liked it a lot. The plot is spectacular. I love mystery stories and this is a story that catches you.
The protagonist is a professional woman and mother, who is very responsible for her work as a detective. During the course of the story, she has to live some tragic moments of pain; where she has to demonstrate her capacity for resilience and be able to continue her work. However, without also forgetting her side as a woman, without a current partner and still suffering from her divorce.
As from one moment to the next, the city becomes chaos and has to deal with everything that is presented; crime, violence, lies.

Without a doubt, I rate it with 5 stars. The author captured all the content in a very attractive way, thinking about how to write every detail and resulting in a very good book.

What a web of connections? It started with one, and on it went, leaving a trail of bodies and more questions than answers. This was an amazing first book, and I do sincerely hope there are more stories to come. I want so much more for characters to interact again, I thought two characters would get together, and then two others, but nope, you are left wanting for answers. This author knows how to keep the reader on their toes, wanting more. Tidbits are revealed on every page and you have to keep turning them to see what is going to happen next. This is one complete story, but I'm hoping there will be more in the future. Loved it, could not put it down. I read it in one day.

I voluntarily reviewed this book.

This incredible read is different from the author’s previous books, but still carries the same emotions and intensity. While reading this story I found myself engaged from page one anticipating where this would take us because it grabs your attention like you’re in a crime tv show and pulls on your emotions. The characters go through so much that you don’t’ see which way some twists were going, and you become invested with each one of them. I found myself going through so many emotions from shock to my heart breaking for the things they endured, and I loved every single moment. If intense suspense and mystery is your thing this book is perfect for you because it has it all.

This is my first book by Savannah Maris and not my typical or most favorite genre to read but I loved the suspense in this book! I couldn't put the book down, wanting to know more and more. Very Law & Order, CSI and even some Dateline vibes. Plenty of twists and turns and major shockers. Great character developments as each one always kept me guessing who was good and who was dirty. I really felt for Margo as she was pulled into many different scenarios and forced to wear many different hats. The ending felt a bit blunt - case is solved now goodbye. BUT I still loved it and will definitely not be forgetting Augusta anytime soon.

I have read all of Savannah's books and she never ceases to amaze me. This book was a lot different than her others and if you enjoy a good mystery, you will not be disappointed. I feel like when I read most mysteries, I can figure out what is happening before it happens because they are so predictable. NOT THIS ONE! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time wondering what was going to happen next and trying to figure out "who done it". And who was the voice????!!!! I was eliminating people the whole time and I never figured out who it was until the voice was revealed. So many feels. I loved every moment and I hope that we see more from these characters because I NEED MORE!
