This was a mess of a book. It was scattered and unbelievable. It also needs editing
The plot was so unbelievable. You kidnap a woman and chain her up and she has no fear and acts like nothing is happening to her. She gets drugged again but has no animosity toward the H she is madly in love with him. Then he just takes her on his mafia meetings and she acts like she has done this for her whole life when she was preparing to be a nun before they took her. Wow! Then to find it’s a match making ploy by the mom?
I had a hard time reading it all and skipped some too…didn’t miss anything

Fast-paced, mysterious, dark, and sexy. Very original mafia plot with great side characters.
This is a great read if you love an alpha-hole man with a soft spot for his sweet love interest. “I hate everyone but you” vibes.

Ik mocht eerder al iets van deze Europese auteur lezen en ik wist dus wel dat ze een sexy verhaal kon neerzetten. Met dit boek heeft ze ook laten zien dat ze wat meer achtergrond aan de personages kan meegeven. Er werd een uitgebreid verhaal geschreven over Logan, die de fakkel van zijn ouders moet overnemen als hoofd van The Business in NY, en Angelique, die eigenlijk in Frankrijk woont en zich in het klooster ging aanmelden. We kunnen wel stellen dat Angie haar plannen snel overboord gooit als ze in aanraking komt met Logan 😉. Eigenlijk vindt ze dat niet eens zo heel erg, ze twijfelde toch al. Maar om dan te weten te komen wat Logan als job doet is toch wel even schrikken. Angie is echter niet zomaar weg te jagen en laat zien dat ze ook wel wat in zich heeft. Logan op zijn beurt beseft dat hij een sterke vrouw als partner kan gebruiken. Angelique is alles voor hem!

Het was fijn om te zien hoe de personages evolueerden. Angie van schuchter en onschuldig naar toch wel een mondiger persoon die de touwtjes ook in handen kan houden. Logan van geen relaties en duister naar hotteldebottel, zachtaardig en ook nog wel wat duister 😉

Geschreven in een vlotte schrijfstijl is het ook voor degenen die niet echt gewend zijn van veel Engels te lezen, goed te doen. Alles was duidelijk en beeldend beschreven. Je kreeg een zicht op de omgeving en de emoties van de personages. Het dubbel perspectief hielp er ook zeker bij.

This is a slightly twisted and dark story. And I’m here for that!
Angélique is taking a weekend away trip, and ends up meeting a man that she finds herself drawn to from the first meeting. Her plan is to become a nun, but after meeting Logan that plan changes drastically. Instead she’s fascinated by this man who seems to be living in a dark, criminal world. Is it possible something like this happens in the real world? No, not likely. But this is fiction! We can dream about the bad guy corrupting the good girl and making her fall in love!
The chemistry between them is panty melting hot!!! And the dirty talk is 🔥🔥🔥
Loved the writing style, plot and pacing! I don’t miss anything from this story.

Implausible and just plain ridiculous
I don't know what everyone else is reading but this really is the most ridiculous book I think I've ever read. Nothing was credible from the first word to the last and I can't believe I forced myself to finish it. The only reason I did was because I received a complimentary copy and I think it's extremely rude not to read the whole book in those circumstances, just in case my view changes by the end. Sadly, there was no redeeming this dog's breakfast of a disaster.
The blurb tells you absolutely nothing but this whole book was a mess. There were characters that appeared for no reason, had no real part to play at all, and just confused me because they were all so interchangeable. Then there were plot points that came up once then were just left hanging without resolution, such as a letter that Angélique found in bizarre circumstances then just stuffed in her pocket and it was never mentioned again, and who was Prue really, and her family also?
I can believe that this is a debut novel but I would find it hard to believe that an editor was used and it sorely needs one.
This is definitely not a series nor an author I will be continuing with.

Angélique is about to enter a convent and become a nun but flies to New York where she is drugged, kidnapped and chained to a wall, but doesn't put up any fight when Logan, a man who thinks she's been paid to be there for him, treats her as an escort (not full sex), because he's so handsome and fascinating. He gives her sleeping tablets then she wakes up the next morning in her hotel room and just goes to meet her new online friends for breakfast, as if nothing happened. When she sees the man who initially kidnapped her, she chats to him and treats him as a protector almost, and she looks forward to seeing Logan again.
Logan is the heir to a criminal organisation but he wants the naive Angélique and brings her into his world, sort of. Then a video of an execution is mentioned in her hearing and suddenly, she's in the thick of things, voicing her opinions and giving Logan advice but that's okay because she understands everything as she watches Netflix.
Their relationship takes place over a whole three days then he asks her to marry him and she accepts. The End.

Book Name: Unshakable
My thoughts: This book was not for me. I did not care for the writing style, the plot points became confusing because things happened but were never dealt with, or even mentioned again. I could not get into the story because I could not believe it in any way. It struck me as a bad action flick from the 80s, except one without any major stars.
I have been sick for the last several days, which has made writing reviews difficult for me, but I have continued to read as much as I can. These reviews will be shorter than normal, and less detailed due to my need to complete them. I hope to be able to edit them after I’m well, and write what I really want to say. For now this will have to do.
5 ⭐️s= Perfect story, exciting, engrossing, well developed complex characters, solid plot with few to no holes, descriptive environments and place settings, great mystery elements, realistic dialogue, believable reactions and behaviors, loved this story so much I’d buy it.
4 ⭐️s= Great story, highly entertaining and enjoyable, exciting storyline, well developed characters and settings, a few discrepancies but nothing that can’t be overlooked. Believable actions and reactions, realistic dialogue, a book I would consider buying.
3 ⭐️s= Good but not great story, noticeable discrepancies, grammatical and or spelling errors, undeveloped characters or unbelievable behaviors but still readable. Nothing majorly wrong with the story, just not interesting enough for me to continue. Would not buy the book.
2 ⭐️s= Not offended by the story, but not interested enough to finish. Unbelievable characters, poor writing, many mistakes, big holes or discrepancies, many spelling or grammatical errors, characters not believable, unlikeable or TSTL.
1 ⭐️= Offensive, extremely poor writing, horrible characters, victimization, gaslighting, blatant abuse, unnecessary violence, child endangerment, or any other highly objectionable behaviors by Main characters. Would never buy this book, and do not recommend it to anyone.

For the average dark romance reader, this book was pretty good but some elements outside of the romance were a bit much for me. The main male character, Logan, seemed to dabble pretty unabashedly in semi-human trafficking (the girls appeared willing but a little forced) which wasn't my cup of tea. I was also a little confused in some scenes in exactly what was happening, but the big started to mesh better toward the second half. Angelique was a very strong female character and I did appreciate the continued religious conviction she had throughout. I think there's some additional books on the horizon for this series and I would definitely give them a read- I have learned from experience that later books in a series usually improve and this was a pretty decent read overall!.

Angélique is a sweet girl from France who is thinking of becoming a nun but first wants to make sure she is making the right choice. She makes some friends online and the girls arrange to meet in New York for a weekend of fun, hoping to discover if there is more to life.
After arriving in NY she awakes in a room tied up and in walks Logan ready to meet his “escort”. They do a lot more talking than Logan was expecting and he is intrigued by Angélique. He delivers her to her hotel that night and she wakes up the next morning to meet her friends.
I loved the growth you see in both characters as they get to know each other and explore the explosive chemistry they share. Angel is introduced into Logan’s world and instead of shying away from it she is accepting but puts forth her own ideas which in the end will help reduce the violence.
Logan and Angel are from completely different worlds but are made for each other.
This is a fast paced, thrilling, steamy read and I for one totally loved it!
It’s a standalone but will be part of a series and I can’t wait to see where Lola Malone takes us next.

I really liked the trope that the plot took, which was not what i expected.
However, i have a little mixed up feelings for some details in the book. I don't like giving spoilers away, so i can't specify.
The MC were well developed, but something annoyed me with the hero.
There was steam, violence, family ties and a hint for the next book to follow.
Overall, i liked it. I see that this is a new author and i am going to follow her for more books.

April 2, 2023I haven’t picked this back up since January (it’s now April) so I’m officially DNFing at 60ish%
I didn’t mind the somewhat unbelievable premise but when the MMC was so casual about human trafficking or at very least exploiting vulnerable women, kept calling them “bitches”, and just generally spoke to/about women in a way that made me uncomfortable he was ruined as a love interest for me.
I was told I needed to read in order, but I’m also seeing that this has been taken out of the series so hopefully I won’t be too lost when I try the “next” book. The writing isn’t bad but yikes @ men who hate women 🤦🏼♀️

When I was asked to review this book and was told it's along the lines of the 50 Shades series I was not expecting it to be anywhere near as good as the 50 Shades books.
However after the 1st chapter, I was HOOKED!!
I could not put this book down.
Such an amazing love story but also very raunchy (I was watching over my shoulder on the tram to make sure no one could see what I was reading hehe)
I finished this book today and cannot wait for the next one!

Logan & Angelique
I've never read anything like this and it's refreshing. Logan and Angelique don't start off good ... it kind of reminds me of Euphoria where Cal confronts Fez and he's like " I'm extremely confused. " "You're confused ? I'm confused bro?" 😂
Because things are definitely not what they seem.
It's very fast paced and I love how easy Angelique accepts Logan's world.
I'm extremely excited to know what will happen with Logan's brother Connor. 😍

Angelika is drugged and kidnapped when she is going away with friends. Wakes up chained to a wall and unsure what is going to happen. Logan is told by his mend that they have a gift for him, and this is how he meets Angelika. This was a hard read for me. Its does have interesting parts just don't understand how Angelika was accepting of how she came to be there and everything. This is a well written story.

Logan has been told his team has got him a present and he finds it chained up. The the real issue I had is that she does not even protest, even when she is drugged a second time.

This is the first time I am reading this author and I got intrigued by the blurb and decided to give it a shot. It was a fast paced mafia romance. Logan and Angelique were two characters totally opposite of each other and the first time they met was not in the best of the circumstances. Logan is a mafia boss and a misunderstanding had Angelique drugged and kidnapped and gifted to to Logan . Sparks fly between these two. This is the first book in the series. Looking forward to reading more.

I thoroughly enjoyed this introduction to the brutal world of the Donnelly’s. Logan was the perfect alpha-hole character, and I warmed to Angelique, despite her initial ‘goody-two-shoes’ act. When all the pretences were stripped away, it was clear the pair were made for each other.
I thoroughly enjoyed this introduction to the brutal world of the Donnelly’s. Logan was the perfect alpha-hole character, and I warmed to Angelique, despite her initial ‘goody-two-shoes’ act. When all the pretences were stripped away, it was clear the pair were made for each other.

This was such a great read. There was a lot of twists and turns in the story, which made it even better. How can you not love a dominant alpha male in their element?.

This is the first book in this series Undeniable. It took me a bit to get into the story. It is fast paced, Mafia themed story. The characters are very opposite from one another. This is a new author for me, and we will see what the next book brings.

I love this genre and although wasn't enthralled right away it very quickly grew on me and I couldn't put it down. Highly recommend it.

I loved this book! It's a bit of a wild ride, following Angelique (a French woman) in New York where she spends a weekend with her friends. When she's chained onto his wall... 👌 Loved that part. Lots of smut, lol. Logan, the mobster, steps up as the new leader and decides that he wants her to stay with him. I love instalove, passionate and strong, and this was well described. Overall a great, relatively short read!
