Lena Lauer

Director of Limón Institute
As a dance and teaching artist, Lena created and performed work from the Sonoran Desert of the Southwest to the Andes Mountains of South America. She has taught, performed and made dances for universities, inner-city schools, private studios, for adults, youth, the aging, pre-professional dancers, dance enthusiasts and dancers with disabilities. In 2013, Lena co-founded The Lovelies, a 4th-generation dance improvisation company that performs and teaches all over the U.S. Lena’s priorities include mentoring emerging young artists on their individual career path and she is thrilled to be leading Limón2 into its third season.

Limón2 - The Foundation’s second Company.
Limón2 is dedicated to the development of young professionals for a sustainable career and lasting contributions to the dance world. Limón2 also seeks to generate innovative programming and accessible community engagement.
This inaugural artistic venture brings together young talent, the iconic works of José Limón, along with today’s most exciting up and coming choreographers. The treasured spirit and humanistic legacy of José Limón lives on with Limón2!

Mikey Comito
Mikey Comito from Long Island, New York is a current second company member from the Limón Dance Company. He started his artistic training at Brockport University where he trained under Jim Hansen. In the past he has performed works by Kathryn Alter, William Carlos Ángulo, Youssouf Koumbassa, José Limón, to name a few. In addition, he has been guided and mentored artistically by Jim May and Jonathan Riddell. He is incredibly inspired to continue working with mentors and artists in this season of the Limón2.

Danielle Goodman
Danielle is a Phoenix, Arizona native and from a young age trained in a multitude of styles. She graduated summa cum laude with a BFA in dance and a minor in nutritional science from the University of Arizona where she had the opportunity to perform choreography from Sam Watson, Tamara Dyke- Compton, and George Balanchine. Danielle had the opportunity to perform with Katy Perry at the Super Bowl XLIX and spent her summers learning and performing at Perry Mansfield, Giordano Dance Chicago Summer Intensive, Limón Summer Intensives, and Houston Contemporary Summer Intensive. There she performed works by Peter Chu, Alex Ketley, José Limón, Ja’Malik, and Autumn Eckman. She also attended the LimónPro and LimónLaunch training programs. Since graduating, Danielle has danced with Caterina Rago Dance Company, Lydia Johnson Dance Company and is a current member of Limon2 where she has performed as a soloist.

Edu Hernandez
Edu Hernandez a native from Morelos, México, migrated to The United States at the age of 10. He is a graduate student in BFA Dance from Cal State Long Beach. In the past he has performed the works of Kathryn Alter, William Carlos Angulo, Issa Hourani, Anouk Van Dijk, Rebecca Lemme, Ashley Lindsey, José Limón, Ohad Naharin, Omar Román De Jesús, and Devin Richey to name a few. Also, as an artist and choreographer his work has been selected for the 92Y Mobile Dance Festival, the Palm Springs International Dance Festival, the Midwest RAD Festival, The Solo/Duo Dance Festival, and the Dance Studio Alliance Festival. He has been part of the Limón Second Dance Company since 2021.

Madeline Jones
Madeline is a New York City based artist from Chautauqua, New York. She started her early dance training at Chautauqua Regional Youth Ballet with Artistic Director Monika Alch. During this time, she attended dance programs such as NYSSSA, CPYB, Paul Taylor, and DARC Stage International de Danse in Châteauroux, France. Madeline then went on to earn her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Conservatory of Dance at SUNY Purchase. While at Purchase she performed works by Merce Cunningham, Rena Butler, José Limón, Hannah Garner of 2nd Best Dance Company, and Carla Maxwell. In 2022, Madeline joined the Limón Training program and has continued to explore her passion for the work. She is so excited to join Limón2 in their third season!

Jasmine Presti
Jasmine Presti is a New York native who started her dance journey at a young age. She graduated from Adelphi University with a BFA in Dance in May 2022. Jasmine had the opportunity to perform works by Larry Keigwin, Winston “Dynamite” Brown, Mark Morris, Takehiro Ueyama, and Martha Graham. She performed Graham’s Chronicle at The Joyce Theater at the University Partners Showcase in 2019. Since graduating, she has worked with an African based dance company performing traditional West African dances as well as sticking to her modern roots by working with Afaliah Tribune. She is ecstatic and honored to be a part of the Limón legacy with Limón2.

Mirai Shinde
Mirai Shinde (Cortlandt Manor, NY) started her dance training at the University of Michigan, graduating summa cum laude with a BA in Music. During her time there, she immersed herself in modern and contemporary dance styles with teachers such as Robin Wilson, Amy Chavasse, and Penny Godboldo. Since graduating, Mirai has performed works by Martha Graham, José Limón, Sandra Torijano, and Charles Gushue; most recently, she performed works by composer Reena Esmail at Worcester Mechanics Hall with Yamini Kalluri and the Kritya Dance Ensemble. She is also a classically-trained operatic soprano of over a decade, and she constantly seeks ways to inform her dance study with her musical experience. Mirai entered the Limón Institute’s training program in 2022 and is now extremely excited to be joining Limón2 this season!

Ryan Tucker
Ryan Tucker began their dance training as a freshman at San José State University earning their Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2019. This rich experience allowed them exposure to such choreographers as Doug Varone, Kyle Abraham, Mike Esperanza, and Kara Davis, as well as exposure to master works. Ryan also had the privilege of performing Kara Davis’s “Exoskeleton” at the American College Dance Association’s national gala at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and Heather Cooper and Raphaël Boumaïla’s "And suddenly we see..." on the famous Jacob's Pillow Inside/Out stage. Since graduating Ryan has had the privilege to work with sjDANCEco under the artistic direction of Gary Masters and Maria Basile, REACH BC Dance Company in San Francisco. Ryan is currently a Dance Training and Arts Administration intern with the José Limón Dance Foundation, and they are beyond thrilled, excited, and honored to become a member of Limón2.
